Five Saudi students, from the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" in partnership with the Ministry of Education, attained a global achievement by winning 5 medals (silver and 4 bronze) at the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad 2024 (JBMO2024); which was held in the Republic of Turkey in its 28th session, which was held from June 25 to 30, with the participation.

The student Abdullah bin Tariq Al-Amer, from the Eastern Province Education Administration, won a silver medal; while the bronze medal was won by: the student Mohammed Shaiban, from the Royal Commission Education Administration in Jubail Industrial City, the student Belal Al Hejaili, from the Medina Education Administration, the student Fatima Almarhoun, from Eastern Province Education Administration and finally student Arar Al-Ajami from Riyadh Education.

Dr. Amal bint Abdullah Al-Hazza, the Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba", stated that this victory is added to the series of successive achievements of the nation’s gifted men and women. She added: "it embodies the concerted efforts between Mawhiba and its strategic partner, the Ministry of Education, to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Dr. Al-Hazza praised the capabilities of the nation's male and female students and their attainment of many achievements at the international level; which will contribute to building the nation's future and enhancing its human wealth.
This is the 13th participation of the Kingdom’s national team in the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad. The Saudi team won 63 medals during its participation, including 9 gold, 24 silver, and 30 bronze.

The Kingdom’s achievement in the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad is an extension of the series of global scientific achievements in international competitions in which the Kingdom participates, represented by the Ministry of Education and "Mawhiba".

The students participating in the competition were selected after a series of precise tests conducted by "Mawhiba" during the intensive training period it provides for all participating students. The participating team members of this competition underwent intensive training that lasted several years, at the hands of an elite group of distinguished national and international trainers.

The Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad competitions, organized by one of the Balkan countries and Cyprus, are held annually. The state of Yugoslavia hosted the competition in its first session in 1997. Each country participates with a team of a maximum of six male and female students who are not more than 15.5 years old at the start of the competition, which is held in one day.
